I am almost retired… and I can’t believe it.

Tuesday, May 24. #sol22 Tuesdays

I missed a few Tuesdays, but the end of the year is busy. The end of the year when you retire is NUTS! We had a wonderful retirement celebration at a local place that has garage doors for walls, so there was plenty of ventilation. There were also plenty of people I have worked with over the 35 years, some already retired, and a lot still teaching. I am still in shock from all the wonderful words that were shared with me, both in person and in the memory book. I feel like teachers often don’t realize the impact they have on others, because we are so busy getting things done. : )

This past weekend we took our camper for a quick overnight to finish getting it ready for the season. Good news! The water no longer smells like rotten eggs, so that’s a plus! We took our first showers in the camper, and it was lovely!

As we took our typical walk around the campground, Greg asked, “Why is it that the second we pull into a campground, I feel myself relaxing??” I don’t know the answer, but I’m looking forward to exploring that over the next decade or so. : )

  1. Congratulations! It is time to enjoy your retirement! I am so glad that you sound like you are looking forward to it. My husband and I have really enjoyed this time (retirement) together. We feel like we can “do our own thing” but then also enjoy doing things together! I am looking forward to hearing about some of your RV adventures and newfound relaxation!
